Executive Director Jeanette Toney has led the Hampton Manor community for the last 13 years, and she is integral to the home-like, family-centric, environment we’ve established in Northampton County.
Jeanette's passion for healthcare began at 18-years-old when she started her first job working at a local nursing home after receiving her Nursing Assistant Certificate from Halifax Community College. She attributes “the rewarding experience of providing care for the elderly” as being the main reason she decided to return to college to finish her degree and complete her administrator license.
Prior to accepting her position as Executive Director here at Hampton Manor in 2008, Jeanette served in the industry as a Nursing Assistant, Medical Office Assistant, Personal Care Assistant, and Medical Technician. Before taking the lead at Hampton Manor, she also served at the community as the Business Office Manager.
With nearly 30 years of service within the industry, Jeanette’s experience and knowledge of senior care is invaluable. Even more so, Jeanette’s level of personal connection with her residents and staff is what makes her such a respected leader in our community. From individually wishing each resident “good morning” to letting them each know how much she loves them before leaving the community each night — it’s the little things that make Jeanette the perfect person to lead Hampton Manor.
A loving wife and mother to four, it is no surprise that Jeanette’s nurturing persona and care for others overflows from her “at home family” to her “extended family,” here at Hampton Manor. Located just minutes away from Lake Gaston in Roanoke Valley, Jeanette and her family are actively involved in the community and love to spend their free time boating, going to the beach, camping, and fishing.
“I make it a priority to emphasize the importance of going above and beyond to make each resident feel uniquely cared for, happy, and loved,” Jeanette said. “It’s the small things that you can do for your resident that puts a smile on their face and lets you know you have done your job well.”
Anyone who has spent time at Hampton Manor can tell that our community is one huge family, and we take pride in providing exceptional care for both our residents and staff. We are grateful for Jeanette’s passion and loving guidance as she leads our community.
We wouldn’t be able to provide exceptional care if it weren’t for our incredible team, led by such a dedicated leader. To learn more about our community, call us at (252) 533-0007.
